Part 2 –

60 seconds to prepare 📝
2 minutes to answer 🗣️

  • Describe a period of history that you find interesting
    You can say:
    – what the period is
    – how you know about it
    – what happened in the period
    – and say why you find it interesting

One period of history that I find particularly interesting is the Renaissance. I learned about the Renaissance in school, and I’ve been fascinated by it ever since. The Renaissance was a period of great cultural and intellectual growth that took place in Europe from the 14th to the 17th century. It was a time of great artistic and scientific achievement, and it marked the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the modern era.

During the Renaissance, there were many important developments in art, literature, science, and philosophy. Artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael created some of the most famous works of art in history. Scientists such as Galileo Galilei and Johannes Kepler made groundbreaking discoveries in astronomy and physics. And writers such as William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes produced some of the greatest works of literature ever written.

I find the Renaissance interesting because it was a time of such great creativity and innovation. It was a time when people were not afraid to challenge long-held beliefs and explore new ideas. The art and literature of the Renaissance continue to inspire people today, and the scientific discoveries made during this time laid the foundation for many of the advances we enjoy today.
