IELTS Speaking Part 2 & 3

Part 2 & 3 – A difficult task – (Sept ~ April 2024)

Part 2 –

60 seconds to prepare 📝
2 minutes to answer 🗣️

  • Describe a difficult task you had to do
    You can say:
    – what the task was
    – when you were given the task
    – if you succeeded in doing the task or not
    – and why you thought it was difficult

One difficult task I had to do was giving a presentation at work. My boss assigned me this task last month, and it was scheduled for a department meeting.

I succeeded in completing the presentation, but it was quite challenging for me. The main reason it was difficult was because I have a fear of public speaking. Speaking in front of my colleagues made me nervous and anxious.

To overcome this challenge, I practiced my presentation many times and used cue cards to help me remember what to say. I also took deep breaths and tried to speak slowly and clearly during the presentation.

In the end, I managed to deliver the presentation successfully, and it felt like a big accomplishment for me. It helped me build confidence in my public speaking skills, and I hope to improve even more in the future. Although it was tough, I realized that facing my fears and challenges head-on can lead to personal growth and development.

Overall, this experience taught me the importance of preparation, perseverance, and pushing my own boundaries. It was a valuable learning opportunity, and I now feel more capable of handling similar tasks in the future.
