What water sports are popular in Korea?
“I think the most popular water activity is swimming, because it’s pretty common and there are lots of swimming pools to practice in or learning swimming. I think many Korean people think it’s better to learn how to swim when people are very young – around 5 years old – so that’s why there are lots of swimming classes for young children. These days, some athletes have been focused on by the media and we think being an athlete is kind of cool, so many parents want their children to learn swimming or other sports.”

Do you think having a river has a impact on the tourism in your country?
I think so, because usually riverS run through the city, so many cities in the world have cruises or ferries and many tourists want to see the scenery on the boat, and even in the night, they can ride on the boat and see the scenery [cityscape]. As far as I know, Paris there is the Seine River where people can take boats to watch the scenery, and that’s why it can have a huge impact on the tourism if they use the river wisely.”
