Describe a photograph that you like that was taken by someone else
“Since I moved to Africa I’ve been fond of photography, so it’s been ten years now. I got lucky enough to practice this hobby during safaris and I really enjoyed it. What I liked was the beauty of the landscapes and the environment, but it was also the challenge of capturing animals and of capturing life whether in daylight or at night. The wildlife in Africa is quite special. I attended an exhibition called ‘In Exodus’, by a Brazilian photographer and his work was dedicated to capturing men at work in [harsh environments] and [perilous situations] as well as animals, and during the exhibition in Paris, I went to see it. I was just blown away when I saw this picture of a leopard, because the technique he used to capture it was so specific. 80% of the picture was black, and light on a small puddle where the leopard was drinking a bit of water. It’s just one animal – the light focusing on just the puddle , it’s eyes were striking. It’s one of the greatest pictures I have ever seen and I feel lucky to have seen it in person.”

+ Collocation: perilous situations – a dangerous or life-threatening situation – “The Coast Guard are trained to rescue sailors in perilous situations in the ocean.”
