- Describe an interesting conversation you had with someone else
- who this person was
- where you met this person
- what you talked about
- why it was interesting
I’ve met some really interesting people in my life and they’re either from the US or the UK or from Denmark, and so I’m actually very lucky to have had a lot of fascinating and deep conversations with people from different backgrounds, but one I remember vividly is one I had with my previous language exchange partner who is from the US. We had our regular language exchange, and usually before the real exchange we have dinner together. So we started to talk about how Taiwanese people are obsessed with talking about food. Taiwan is one of the countries in the world that is famous for its variety of food. He couldn’t talk about anything else but food with his Taiwanese friends. He said something that I had already had in my mind for a while, but I wanted to be polite and not cynical, so I had never talked about it before. I really enjoyed that conversation and we probably talked about it for more than an hour. I enjoy having conversations with people from other countries because we can talk more deeply about topics. If I have the opportunity, I would love to talk about how foreigners living in Taiwan see Taiwanese politics, attitudes or other aspects of our lives.
