  • Describe a time when you decided to wait for something
    You can say:
    – when it happened
    – where it happened
    – what you were waiting for
    – and say how long you waited for

I remember a time when I had to wait for a long time to buy tickets for a concert. It happened a few years ago when one of my favorite bands announced that they would be performing in my city. The concert was highly anticipated, and I knew that tickets would sell out quickly, so I decided to wait in line early in the morning to buy them.

I arrived at the ticket booth at around 6 a.m. and was surprised to find that there were already several people waiting in line ahead of me. I quickly found my spot in line and settled in for what turned out to be a long wait. The sun was just beginning to rise, and I remember feeling cold and sleepy as I waited for the ticket booth to open.

As the morning wore on, more and more people arrived, and the line grew longer and longer. Despite the discomfort and tedium of waiting for several hours, I was determined to get my hands on a ticket. I passed the time by chatting with other fans, listening to music on my phone, and reading a book that I had brought with me.

Finally, after about six hours of waiting, the ticket booth opened, and the line began to move. It took me another hour or so to reach the front of the line, but I was thrilled when I finally got my hands on a ticket. It was a great feeling of satisfaction to know that my patience and determination had paid off.

Looking back, I realize that waiting for tickets may not seem like a big deal, but at the time, it was a significant experience for me. It taught me the value of perseverance and the importance of being patient when waiting for something that you really want.
