IELTS Speaking Part 2 & 3

Part 2 & 3 – Something in a hurry – (Jan ~ August 2024)

Part 2 –

60 seconds to prepare 📝
2 minutes to answer 🗣️

  • Describe something you did in a hurry
    You can say:
    – when it was
    – what you did
    – why you did it in a hurry
    – and if you succeeded or not

Last month, I experienced a day full of rush and urgency. It was a typical Thursday, but I had an important job interview scheduled in the afternoon. Unfortunately, I had underestimated the time it would take to prepare and travel.

In a hurry, I quickly chose a formal suit, did a rapid grooming routine, and skipped my usual breakfast. The main reason for the rush was that the interview was earlier than I normally start my day, and I had stayed up late the night before to prepare my presentation and resume.

My focus was to make a good impression, so despite the rush, I double-checked my documents and ensured I had everything needed. The journey to the interview location was a race against time. I managed to catch the earlier bus, thanks to my hurried pace.

In the end, I arrived just on time, slightly out of breath but ready. Thankfully, the interview went well. I succeeded in conveying my skills and enthusiasm. Later, I was informed that I got the job, making all the hurry and stress worth it in the end.
