IELTS Speaking Part 2 & 3

Part 2 & 3 – Someone with interesting ideas – (Sept ~ April 2024)

Part 2 –

60 seconds to prepare 📝
2 minutes to answer 🗣️

  • Describe someone who has interesting ideas
    You can say:
    – who they are
    – how you know them
    – what kind of ideas they have
    – and why you think they are interesting

I have a friend named Sarah who I’ve known since our college days, and she is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating individuals I’ve ever met. Sarah possesses an incredible knack for generating ideas that challenge the status quo and inspire those around her. We first crossed paths while pursuing degrees in engineering, and our friendship has only grown stronger over the years.

Sarah’s ideas are characterized by their innovation and unwavering focus on sustainability. She has an uncanny ability to fuse her engineering knowledge with a profound concern for environmental issues. One of her most captivating ideas was a project aimed at using recycled materials to construct affordable, eco-friendly housing for underprivileged communities. This concept went beyond typical environmentally conscious designs; it was a holistic approach to addressing housing problems while minimizing the carbon footprint.

What truly sets Sarah apart is her capacity to think outside the box. She refuses to be constrained by conventional wisdom and routinely challenges established norms. Her ideas not only have the potential to make a positive and lasting impact on the world but also force those around her to reevaluate their perspectives. Sarah’s ideas inspire me because they serve as a reminder that, with a blend of creativity and expertise, we can find innovative solutions to some of society’s most pressing problems. She embodies the idea that a single individual armed with unique and thought-provoking ideas can truly make a difference.
