Part 2 & 3 – Giving advice – (Sept ~ April 2024)

2 minutes to answer 🗣️

  • Describe a time you gave someone advice
    You can say:
    – who you gave the advice to
    – what your advice was
    – if the person followed your advice
    – if it was good advice

I vividly recall a situation when I provided advice to my younger cousin who was struggling with time management during his final exams. He was feeling overwhelmed by the extensive syllabus and was unsure about how to effectively allocate his study time.

I advised him to create a study schedule that incorporated short study sessions with regular breaks. I emphasized the importance of setting realistic goals for each study session and using techniques like the Pomodoro Technique to enhance concentration. Additionally, I encouraged him to prioritize subjects based on his proficiency and the exam schedule.

I am pleased to say that he followed my advice diligently. He adhered to the study schedule and reported that he felt more focused and less stressed. As a result, he performed remarkably well in his exams, exceeding his own expectations.

Considering the positive outcome, I believe the advice I gave was effective. It not only helped him manage his time efficiently but also boosted his confidence and academic performance. This experience reinforced my belief in the value of sharing advice based on personal experiences and practical strategies.
