IELTS Speaking Part 2 & 3

Part 2 & 3 – An important decision – (May ~ Dec 2023)

Part 2 –

60 seconds to prepare 📝
2 minutes to answer 🗣️

  • Describe an important decision you made
    You can say:
    – what the decision was
    – where you were
    – how you made the decision
    – and say why it was difficult to make

One of the most important decisions I made was deciding to move to a different city for a job opportunity. I was living in a small town and had been searching for a job in my field for a while. When I finally received an offer from a company in a bigger city, I had to weigh the pros and cons of making the move.

On one hand, I was nervous about leaving my hometown and starting fresh in a new place where I didn’t know anyone. On the other hand, I was excited about the job opportunity and the chance to explore a new city. I ultimately decided to take the job and make the move, and it turned out to be a great decision for me.

While it was difficult to leave my family and friends behind, I was able to make new connections and start a new chapter in my life. It was a challenging decision to make, but I’m glad that I took the risk and pursued the opportunity.
