IELTS Speaking Part 2 & 3

Part 2 & 3 – A rule – (Sept ~ April 2024)

Part 2 –

60 seconds to prepare 📝
2 minutes to answer 🗣️

  • Describe an important rule at school or work
    You can say:
    – what the rule is
    – why it’s important
    – what happens when it’s broken
    – how you feel about this rule

One important rule at my workplace is to always meet project deadlines. This rule is crucial because it ensures that our team remains efficient and productive, and that we consistently deliver high-quality work to our clients.

Meeting project deadlines is essential for several reasons. Firstly, it helps us maintain a good reputation with our clients and build trust. When we deliver our work on time, clients can rely on us, and they are more likely to continue working with us in the future. Secondly, it ensures that the workflow within the team remains smooth, as one delayed project can have a domino effect on other projects.

When the deadline for a project is not met, it can have serious consequences. It can lead to a breakdown in communication with the client, causing dissatisfaction and potentially damaging the professional relationship. It can also result in delays for other projects that depend on the completion of the overdue task.

I personally appreciate this rule because it emphasizes the importance of responsibility and accountability. It teaches us to manage our time effectively, prioritize tasks, and communicate openly if there are any challenges that might affect our ability to meet a deadline. Adhering to this rule has helped me improve my time management skills and work more efficiently, which benefits both me and the team.
