IELTS Speaking Part 2 & 3

Part 2 & 3 – A new skill you learnt – (Jan ~ August 2024)

Part 2 –

60 seconds to prepare 📝
2 minutes to answer 🗣️

  • Describe a new / useful skill you learnt recently
    You can say:
    – what the skill is
    – how you learnt the skill
    – how often you use this new skill
    – and if you found this skill useful

A new skill I’ve recently learned is digital photography. I’ve always been interested in capturing moments, but I never knew the technical aspects of using a camera properly. I learned this skill through an online course that covered the basics of photography, including understanding camera settings, composition, and lighting.

At first, it was a bit overwhelming with all the technical terms and techniques, but as I practiced more, I became more comfortable. Now, I use this skill almost every weekend when I go out with friends or on nature walks. Photography has become a way for me to express myself creatively and capture memories in a more meaningful way.

I’ve found this skill incredibly useful. Not only does it allow me to create beautiful images, but it also encourages me to observe my surroundings more closely and appreciate the beauty in everyday life. The joy of sharing my photos with others and seeing their positive reactions is also very rewarding.

This skill has not just been about taking pictures; it’s been a journey in seeing the world from a new perspective.
