IELTS Speaking Test Part 1

Part 1 – Public Transport – (Sept. ~ April 2023)

Part 1 –

#1 – What’s the most popular form of transport in your area?

In my area, the most popular form of transport is probably the car. Many people commute to work or school by driving, and there are also several highways and major roads that run through the area.

#2 – Is driving to work popular in your country?

Yes, driving to work is a popular form of commuting in my country. Many people live in suburban or rural areas and have to drive long distances to get to work, as public transportation may not be as readily available or convenient.

#3 – Do people prefer public or private transportation in your country?

It depends on the person and the situation. In larger cities or urban areas, public transportation is often more convenient and affordable, so many people prefer to use it. However, in more suburban or rural areas, private transportation such as cars may be more common.

#4 – Are there many traffic problems in your area?

Yes, there are often traffic problems in my area, especially during rush hour or during major events. It can be frustrating to sit in traffic and waste time, but it is a common issue in many urban areas.

#5 – How could you improve the traffic problems in your area?

One way to improve traffic problems in my area could be to invest in public transportation and alternative modes of transportation, such as bike lanes or pedestrian paths. Another solution could be to stagger work or school hours to reduce the amount of traffic during peak times.

#6 – How could you improve the public transport in your area?

To improve public transport in my area, I think there could be more investment in infrastructure and technology to make it more efficient and convenient. This could include more frequent service, better connections between different modes of transport, and digital tools to help people plan their journeys more easily. There could also be more efforts to make public transportation more sustainable and environmentally friendly, such as using electric or hybrid vehicles.

#7 – Do you think that you will keep using public transport in the future?

Yes, I think I will continue to use public transport in the future, as it can be a convenient and cost-effective way to get around. I also appreciate the environmental benefits of using public transportation, and think it is important to do what we can to reduce our carbon footprint and make sustainable choices.
