IELTS Lesson – Preparing for Part 2 in 60 seconds

If you read my previous newsletters, you would know that going ‘off-topic’ in Part 2 is a total myth (it’s untrue.)

This knowledge gives you a huge advantage in your Part 2 preparation, because it means you can expand on each of the bullet points on the cue card (only if you want to, of course.)

Watch this video to see an example of me showing you all the different ways you can prepare for a Part 2 cue card.

Bonus video!

Here are some IELTS example answers to some Part 2 & 3  questions about Children, Childhood and TV.

IELTS Practice Questions

Putting it all together:

Part 2 Questions:

  • Describe a place you used to play when you were a child. You should say:
    • Where the place was
    • What the place was like
    • What you did there
    • And how you felt about this place

Part 3 Questions:

  • Is the process of growing up now the same as it was in the past?
  • At what age should children be considered adults?
  • To what extent should children be independent from their parents?
  • How can governments ensure children’s welfare?
  • What do children need nowadays?
  • For parents, what is important when bringing up a child?
  • Are sweets / candy a good thing to reward children with?
  • Do you think mothers and fathers have different roles to play in bringing up a child?
