IELTS Question #1: Is learning a foreign language important?
“Absolutely. Especially nowadays. I think learning a foreign language is more important now than ever before. I think that’s thanks to the Internet, which allows people to connect from different corners of the world at the touch of a button. So learning another language allows you to connect with more people, understand a different culture, and get an insight into another way of looking at the world. So I think it is important to learn a foreign language.”
You can _________ (v.) a foreign language.
You can ____________ (v.) with other people
You can ________________ (v.) a different culture
You can _____________ (v.) an insight into something
IELTS Question #2: When learning a foreign language, which part is easier? Speaking or writing?
“In my opinion, I think speaking is the easier part of learning a second language. I think that’s because in speaking, you don’t have to worry about spelling and sometimes you don’t have to worry about grammar. A lot of people memorize a phrase or a sentence and simply repeat it to be understood. Writing on the other hand can be quite tricky, especially if there is a different alphabet from your native language with different characters or if the spelling is very difficult, like in English. So I think speaking is the easier part.”
Students should _____________ (v.) a phrase or a sentence in order to learn it by heart.
You can also __________ (v.) it over and over again.
A foreign language might use a different ____________ (n.) from your native language
You also have to learn to write individual ____________ (n.) to get your spelling right
