“Yes, I spend a lot of time with teenagers because I’m also a teenager, so all my friends [are the same age as me], and I attend a lot of events where I can talk to other teens as well.”

What do teenagers like to do in Hong Kong?

“Teenagers in Hong Kong are not like teens in western countries, as teenagers in Hong Kong often attend a lot of tutorial classes and maybe extra curricular activities and even language classes. Other than studying, I think teenagers in HK, especially boys, really love to play video games they are hooked on their phones a lot. So when I’m taking public transport I can see a lot of teenagers are using their phones or sleeping on the bus because they are really exhausted.”

What’s the best thing about being a teenager?

“In my opinion, although I haven’t actually been an adult, being a teenager you can enjoy your time with your friends and you don’t have to worry about the rent or whether you have enough money to afford your lifestyle. So you can be carefree and focus on enjoying your life and studying. Another one is one less responsibility. Being a teenager, you’re a little bit unrestricted, and you can GO ON AN adventure and just explore the world whenever you like.”
